With a short, 20 ft head that loads super fast,
and makes a compact D-loop, eliminating
the need for long backcast. The heavier
head digs into the surface, slowing your

A thin running line coupled with J3
coating technology makes Ambush shoot like a rifle. And the Hi-Viz two-tone color
helps you spot the loading point.

The floating line is designed with an extremely short, 20-foot, weighted front end, which is marked by a color change in the line, from lime green to blue. This change point makes it easy for casters to see the right amount of line with which to cast for optimal results. Roll casting is thus visually aided and more intuitive for the single hander. Traditional casting using a backcast, or double-haul is greatly enhanced with this front-heavy line.
But, like all Triangle Taper Fly lines, the very front section is made with a continuous taper down to the tip, which creates a lighter delivery at the business end of the line. So while it blasts like a canon, it lands like a feather.
And while the front end is heavily weighted for roll casting, the running line is thin for easy shooting and mending. The Ambush uses J3 coating technology which is an integrated lubricant/floatant in the line to keep it high, dry, and slippery.
Ambush Triangle Taper floating fly lines are available in sizes WFF 5, 6,7, and 8, and are offer a welded loop for easy leader attachment.
J3 Coating makes Triangle Tapers perform like never before: shooting better, floating higher, repelling water and lasting longer. This hard finish coating has a dry feel, which minimizes resistance for longer casts.

Joan Wulff Signature Line NOW WITH J3 Joan has designed an easy-casting weight forward line with a change of color between the weighted section and the handling and shooting line. The 32'-38' head (depending on size) is ivory. The 8' handling line and shooting line are orange. Royal Wulff - Predator Clear Sinking-Tip Fly Line
Use stealth to your advantage and catch more fish. This Triangle Taper features a clear, intermediate 10'-12' (1.25-1.75 IPS sink rate) tip built onto a floating Triangle Taper line, creating an excellent line for stealthy presentations. Excellent turnover and super-delicate presentation make the predator perfect for emergers, nymphs and midges in lakes and streams. Mono core allows tip to be perfectly clear, and provides supple handling. 90' length, with a 36'-40' taper, and a 50'-54' running line.
