There is usually one gem in any series that shines because the taper of that rod series suits only one wt size exceptionally and not the others. Each Platinum Series single hand rod is a unique design, with it's own taper, that performs at a high level for the specific fishing applications in mind. The Beulah Platinum 8’ 3 wt fly rod was designed with small mountain streams and beautiful wild trout in mind.   We have tested this rod with leaders from 7 ½’ – 16’ and the turnover, as well as the pin point accuracy is incredible. The Platinum 3 wt's deeper flex pattern will allow for a short, quick rod load in tight quarters and a smooth, forgiving, cast to roll out tight loops and fine leaders.

By far the most classic weight and length in the fly fishing world, the 9' 5 weight is the most commonly used rod size for trout fishing. This size rod is most often in our casting hand during our fondest trout fishing memories. From casting small dry flies into pockets to swinging streamers, the new Platinum 5 weight will do it all. Designed as a medium to large water rod, this fly rod will load in short but has the power to go long. When someone asks for one rod to do everything, the answer more often than not is a 6wt. In the case of the Beulah Platinum 9’6” 6 weight you would be correct. This rod gets It done; nymphing tandem rigs, fishing from a boat, float tubing lakes chasing trout, casting poppers for small and large mouth bass, swinging flies for Atlantics, even casting for schoolie stripers in salt water. From Alaska to Tierra Del Fuego dry fly or wet, overhead or spey this rod says “yes I can”. Hell, this rod would probably do the dishes if you asked nicely!

USE OF ROD:
This is the rod of Summer in our neck of the woods for the person who owns multiple fly rods. It is beautiful to cast and mends well with any modern, weight forward, long bellied or double taper lines . Used primarily for larger trout on big water, but will handle light summer steelhead fishing from the shore or boat. A great rod for large and small mouth bass in your local lake.

The Beulah Platinum 9'9" 7 wt is extremely light and well balanced. It weighs only 4 oz., but feels much lighter. We have always felt 10 foot single hand rods have always felt unbalanced and cumbersome, as if they were designed to be 9 feet and then extended as an after thought. This rod reconciles the awkward feel found in most rods longer than 9'6". Smooth casting and exceptional tracking best describes the 9'9" 7wt. Platinum.

The action in the 9'9" walks the line between fast and medium, flexing through out the blank while recovering quickly to give it a quick yet slightly relaxed feel while casting. We wanted this rod to excel swinging and nymphing for steelhead and still be snappy enough to use for light saltwater excursions. In this corner of the world the 7wt is an important size rod and this one does everything and more expected from a seven weight.
