Apply floatant to fly, then use fingers to work floatant into the hair and hackle. For best results at the beginning of the day coat your fly with Aquel(TM) then freshen with Top Ride(TM) fly dryer and dry floatant when dry fly becomes soaked. The Aquel(TM) will help hold the dry floatant for highest and longest floating.
