Echo Swing Spey and Switch Rod - Product Image

Echo Swing Spey and Switch Rod

Echo has created a series of affordable Switch and Spey rods for the two-handed enthusiast, the Echo Swing Switch and Spey Series. The Swing Series helps anglers utilize today's two-handed fly lines to cast farther and maximize water covered with a small two-handed rod. These rods are great entry-level rods for anglers learning to Spey cast. If you're new to Steelhead fishing or Salmon fishing, try the new Swing Series, you won't be disappointed.

Blank

Graphite Fiber Construction - The blank of the Swing Series is responsive and caster-friendly. A medium-fast action and tough graphite fiber construction mean the Swing rods are a joy to cast and remain durable throughout seasons on the water. The Swing has a deep blue blank color and is finished with quality componentry.

Guides

SiC Stripping Guides - The Echo Swing Switch & Spey rods have two SiC stripping guides to allow line to move through the rods with ease. These guides create low friction and low resistance when casting or retrieving line to simplify an angler's connection to the fish.

Hard Chrome Snake Guides - Hard chrome snake guides add durable functionality to the design of the Echo Swing Switch & Spey rods. These guides stand up to abuse on and off the water.

Reel Seat

Anodized Aluminum - The Echo Swing Spey Series has a corrosion-proof black anodized aluminum reel seat designed to protect against the elements and efficiently hold a Spey reel in place without adding extra weight to the rod. The Switch Series has a silver anodized aluminum reel seat. A double downlocking component (Switch rod models) helps balance the rod and secure large Switch reels. The Spey rods have a double uplocking component.

Rod Tube

Fabric-Covered Rod Tube - The Echo Swing Series comes with a blue fabric-covered rod tube and rod sock to store and transport the rod safely. Echo's rod tube is tried and true and comes with an Echo insignia and rod model label.

Warranty

Echo Fly Rod Lifetime Warranty - Echo will repair or replace any defective or damaged rods for the entire lifetime of the original owner. All rods must be sent to Echo for repairs/service. As of 4/17/2019, Echo charges a $35 fee for fly rod repairs/replacements.

Echo TR

TR (Tim Rajeff) Spey

  • Four piece travel design
  • Blank: Matte army green black

  • Tube: Fabric-covered rod case & sock
  • Guides: Black stripping and snake guide
  • Grips: Features three grip styles with composite inserts and pressure points

Tim's faster action "rebuttal" to Dec's smoother casting DH rod. Built with a slightly beefier butt section for those abrupt, bottom-hand power applications. Touch and go to Skagit casting, floating lines to big sink tips. It's dialed.

Action vs Power Comparison

The Action vs. Power matrix is used for comparison between ECHO rod models. Utilizing this chart, you'll be able to choose an ECHO rod that best fits you and your personal casting stroke. The vertical axis indicates the rod's power, while the horizontal axis indicates the rod's action. In simple terms, two-hand rod action is derived from the top half of the rod, while power is derived from the bottom half.

Action:
Fast action rods feature softer tips than medium action rods and provide a 'stiffer' feel. Fast action rods excel in the hands of anglers with more aggressive casting strokes and greater stroke control. Medium action rods are ideal for anglers with more fluid casting strokes and have a larger 'sweet spot' for a wider range of casting strokes. Consistently throwing a tailing loop? Your rod's action may not be a good fit to you and your casting stroke.

Power:
A rod's power is its resistance to flexing under load. Powerful rods are 'beefier' through the bottom half, generate higher line speeds, and are more adept at keeping big fish pinned. Delicate rods are more presentation-oriented, protect light tippet, and are a better choice for picky fish.

Rajeff Sports would like your ECHO experience to be a good one and we ask that you take care of your equipment with the following regular maintenance:

Wash all components with warm freshwater after each days use in saltwater. Pay extra attention to the space where the guides meet the blank and the metal parts of the reel seat. Try to keep sand and dirt out of the ferrules. Occasionally use a few drops of any reel oil or grease on the reel seat threads to keep it operating smoothly. Paraffin wax can also be used on the ferrules if needed to ensure a proper fit.

Do not use tape on your ferrules. If you do we'll come steal all your bacon and PBR.
